Hailed by the press as “a gifted performer” and “a treat to savor,” Kaylee Nichols, American Mezzo-Soprano, was recently debuted with Cincinnati Opera as Giovanna in Rigoletto, Queen City Opera as Laura in Iolanta, and premiered the role of Hannah in Forward Into Light by Stephen Variames and Kathleen Stakenas. Other engagements include Flora in La traviata at The Santa Fe Opera where she was a recipient of the Award of Excellence. She also covered the role of Michele in The Righteous  by Gregory Spears and Tracy K. Smith after workshopping the role with Opera Fusion: New Works.

 

In 2026, she debuted with Cincinnati Song Initiative as the soloist for Jake Heggie’s Camille Claudel: Into the Fire with the Red Door String Quartet. She will collaborate once again with CSI  in their Northern Lights concert where she will perform Ståle Kleiberg’s Trur du på lyng? / Do you Believe in Heather? on Cincinnati Public Radio.

Hailed by the press as “a gifted performer” and “a treat to savor,” Kaylee Nichols, American Mezzo-Soprano, recently debuted as the Kitchen Boy in Rusalka with Santa Fe Opera. The 2022-2023 season brought Ms. Nichols back to Nashville Opera as Mrs. Nolan in The Medium, and to Cincinnati Opera as Michele in The Righteous (workshop) by Gregory Spears and Tracy K. Smith. This upcoming summer, she will return to Santa Fe Opera as Flora Bervoix in La traviata and cover Michele in the world premiere of The Righteous while contracted as an Apprentice Singer.
